For a weighted grade system: multiply each component's score by its weight percentage, add them all together, and divide by 100. Example: Assignments (30%) = 85%, Midterm (30%) = 78%, Final Exam (40%) = 92%. Weighted Grade = (85×30 + 78×30 + 92×40)/100 = (2550 + 2340 + 3680)/100 = 85.7%
Use our final grade calculator: Required Final Exam Score = (Target Grade − Current Grade × Current Weight%) / Final Exam Weight%. If you need a B (80%) overall, have 75% with 60% of grades in, and the final is worth 40%: Required Final = (80 − 75×0.6)/0.40 = (80 − 45)/0.40 = 87.5%.
A+ = 4.0, A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, F = 0.0. Different institutions may use slightly different scales, but this is the most common 4.0 GPA scale used internationally.
Many Indian universities use CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) on a 10-point scale. To convert CGPA to percentage: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5 (for most Indian universities following CBSE guidelines). For example, a CGPA of 8.5 = 8.5 × 9.5 = 80.75%. Some universities have their own conversion formulas, so always verify with your institution.
Each letter grade has a point value (A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0). Multiply each by credit hours, sum them up, then divide by total credit hours.
Typically, a grade of D (50-59%) is the minimum passing grade at most institutions, but many programs require a C or better for core courses.
